Anna webOur Chair, Anna Bradley, will be leaving the GOC in the next few months.

Anna has been appointed as Chair of Healthwatch England, the new patient body being established to advise the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Monitor, the Commissioning Board and the Secretary of State for Health as part of the new arrangements coming into effect in the UK.

This body will also play an important role in supporting and standardising the work of the new local Healthwatch around the country, and comes with a seat on the CQC Board.

In Anna’s time as Chair the GOC has developed enhanced CET, online retention and new Fitness to Practise Rules. Anna also oversaw two consecutive reductions of the annual retention fee and the development of our new three-year strategy.

Anna will wind down her involvement with the GOC over the course of the next few months and we have started work on the process for appointing a new Chair.

GOC chief executive and registrar Samantha Peters said: “Anna has been with us for three years. Together we have navigated our way through some challenging times, and I am grateful to have had the support of such a skilled, committed and enthusiastic Chair.”
