GOC reminds students, 'return retention forms before the summer'

The General Optical Council (GOC) is reminding all registered students to complete and return their retention form, together with payment, before the summer break. The deadline for student retention is 15 July.

Retention forms were posted out to all optometry and dispensing optics students last month. Any students who have not received their application form should contact the registration team on 020 7580 3898 (option 1), or email superinfo@optical.org. Alternatively you can download a copy of the form from our website.

Registration with the GOC is a legal requirement for all optometry and dispensing optics students. Anyone who fails to return their form and payment by the 15 July may be removed from the student register on 1 September. Students who are not registered may be excluded from clinical training and examinations. The GOC may not recognise qualifications of applicants for full registration who were not registered for all or part of their training.

Students who pay now but decide not continue with their course in September will receive a full refund.
