Student retention deadline

2 Aug 2010

Back to news listing

The 15 July retention deadline has now passed. Students who have not yet renewed their registration must pay an additional £10 late application fee. Students who do not apply by 31 August risk removal from the registers.

Maintaining GOC registration is a legal requirement for students of optometry and dispensing optics - students who do not renew their registration may be excluded from exams and clinical training. The GOC may or may not recognise the qualifications of applicants for full registration who were not registered for all or part of their training.

Any students who need to update their contact details or download a retention form can do so from the registrants area of www.optical.org. Students who renew their registration now but decide not to continue with their course in September will receive a full refund.
