GOC retention deadline 15 March: one week to go!

9 Mar 2009

Back to news listing

The retention deadline for all fully-registered optometrists and dispensing opticians is just one week away. All full individual and business registrants must complete and return their retention application forms, along with £219 payment, by 15 March 2009.

To date, 75 per cent of practitioners have successfully renewed their registration for 2009/10. This leaves around 4,800 applications still outstanding. A £20 late application charge applies to registrants whose retention form and fee arrives after the 15 March, but before 31 March.

Those who pay by direct debit must still submit a completed application for retention form or face removal from the register. Practitioners who fail to renew their registration will be removed on 1 April 2009.

Any full registrant who has not received their retention forms should contact the GOC registration team on 020 7580 3898 (option 1) to make sure their details are up to date. Alternatively, email goc@optical.org. Forms can also be downloaded.
