Kam Gohil completes Everest trek

Kam WEBKam Gohil, a member of our Investigation Committee (IC), has recently returned from completing a 12 day trek to Everest Base camp at 5,545m (18,192ft) above sea level.

The trek, with a fellow registrant Jayesh Maru, was in aid of Vision Aid Overseas and they were able to raise an impressive £5,500.

Kam told eBulletin: "It was a tough physical and mental challenge with an eight day ascent and a four day descent - I would call it bit of an endurance trek.

“The main difficulty was that we were above 4,000m for 5 days and nights and it was difficult to breathe! The nights were very cold with temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius. However, it all worked out well. The panoramic views from Kala Patthar of Everest summit were awesome and put into context just how high it really is.

“It was well worth the effort and particularly for such a great cause."

Congratulations Kam and Jayesh!
