Welcome to eBulletin

Welcome to the June issue of the eBulletin. I hope whether you are having a staycation in the UK or jetting off to sunnier shores you get to enjoy some leisure time over the summer.

In this issue, we will share with you the findings of our Education Strategic Review (ESR) consultation and our next steps.  We also feature an article about the importance of reflective practice and the efforts all healthcare regulators are making to promote its use amongst professionals.

Ahead of our new Standards for Optical Businesses coming into force in October, we give you the lowdown on how you can get prepared and we will be introducing you to Dionne Spence, our new Director of Casework and Resolutions; she will be exploring the myths that surround FTP.

We are also fortunate to have an article from the National Guardian about the importance of speaking up if you have concerns about patient safety.

Love Your Lenses Week has now passed but we do have an important article about how you can champion contact lens aftercare advice to your patients, throughout the year.

With best wishes

Lesley Longstone – Chief Executive and Registrar
