Welcome to eBulletin

Welcome to this month’s eBulletin.

In this issue we cover our latest research into risks in the optical professions, which includes analysis of our Fitness to Practise (FTP) data and information from the Optical Consumer Complaints Service (OCCS). Which allegations do you think are the most common amongst practitioners?

We spoke with Philippa Mann, Head of Education, about what a single point of accountability means in the context of the Education Strategic Review (ESR) and how it will change the future of optical education. Sticking with students, we provide you with an update on our yearly student roadshows and why they’re important. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve them, please get in touch.

Finally, don’t forget to visit our new Standards website, which we launched in support of our new Standards for Optical Businesses which came into effect 1 October.

With best wishes

Lesley Longstone – Chief Executive and Registrar
