GOC registrants set for new year

The vast majority of registrants have renewed their GOC registration for 2013-14, demonstrating in the process that they have kept their clinical skills and knowledge up-to-date.

All optometrists and dispensing opticians had to meet our 2010-12 Continuing Education and Training (CET) requirements before they were eligible to apply for retention.

News in brief

GOC Annual Report

The GOC Annual Report 2011-12 is available on our website.

The report reviews the GOC’s work and achievements between April 2011 and March 2012. The report also includes a variety of statistics about our work, including figures showing that for the first time, over 56% of GOC registrants are female.

Research questionnaire

The provision of optical correction to the over 65 age group is an ongoing research project at Aston University. The research team are seeking registrants to help them understand current prescribing and dispensing practices by completing their online survey. It will take about ten minutes to complete.

If you have any questions relating to the survey, please contact Anita Morrison-Fokken.
