Renew your student registration by 15 July

ll students must apply to renew their annual GOC registration by 15 July 2016.

Applying to renew your registration takes just a few minutes and ensures you remain on our registers for the next year.

Simply log in to the MyGOC section of our website, complete the online application form and pay the £25 retention fee.

You are legally required to maintain your GOC registration. By doing so, you can make sure that:

  • you will remain on the register;
  • you are able to sit your next year’s exams; and
  • your final qualifications will be recognised when you apply for full registration.

There is a £10 additional late fee for all applications received after 15 July 2016 and before the final deadline of 31 August. We therefore recommend you complete retention as soon as possible to avoid this extra fee.

If you are completing your Pre-Registration year you still need to renew your GOC registration. Even if you are sitting your OSCE in July, we recommend that you renew your GOC registration. If you apply for the fully qualified register before 30 September 2016 we will deduct your student retention fee from the fully qualified registration fee. Don't worry if you choose not to continue your course in September - we will refund your payment as long as you let us know before 31 August 2016.

If you have any queries about registration, please call 020 7580 3898 (option 1), send a tweet to @GOC_UK or email registration@optical.org. Please do not reply to this email as the address is unattended.
