News in brief

Council meeting

Our Council met in public on 11 May 2016, where they approved draft guidance on consent and the duty of candour on which we will consult on shortly. They also considered and provided feedback on a draft strategy to manage FTP complaints more quickly and effectively.

For full details of the Council meeting and what was discussed, please visit our website.

We are looking for a London-based practice to host our annual photoshoot in July. The photoshoot helps to produce images for our website and publications.

If your practice is interested in hosting this, please email us at

Registrants are requested by Dr. Martin and Ms Ortiz-Toquero to complete a short survey for a research project from Plymouth University (UK) and the University of Valladolid (Spain), to establish how keratoconic patients are managed in optometric practice.
