Apply for retention by 15 March 2016

All fully-qualified registrants are reminded that they must apply to renew their GOC registration for 2016/17 before 15 March 2016.

If you are yet to do so, we recommend that you log in to MyGOC to complete your retention application as soon as possible.

The retention fee for 2016/17 is £320.

Applying for retention takes just a few minutes and ensures that you will be able to continue to legally practise as a GOC registrant for the next year.

Any practitioner who does not apply to renew their registration by the 15 March 2016 deadline will face a £20 late application fee. If you have still not renewed your registration by 31 March 2016, including payment of the late fee, you will be removed from the registers after 1 April 2016.

It is a legal requirement for all UK optometrists and dispensing opticians to remain registered with us in order to practise. Failure to complete retention each year will lead to removal from the registers.

Logging in to MyGoC

You can apply for retention through the MyGOC area of our website.

Our telephone lines are extremely busy during retention, so if you are having difficulties logging in please see our guide on how to log in and how to reset your password.

If you still need help, please call 020 7580 3898 (option 1), send a tweet to @GOC_UK or email
