GOC Annual Report

We have published our annual report. The report touches on the rapid rate of change in the optical sector, new standards of practice and a review of our work over the last year. You can find the full report here

General Data Protection Regulation

As the nature of working as an optical professional involves gathering and storing patients’ data, there is a legal requirement to be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). With new GDPR regulations coming into effect from 25 May 2018, it’s vital to keep updated. Advice from the ICO and details about the regulations can be found here

SeeAbility Guide

SeeAbility is calling on all optical professionals to help improve the situation for over 1.5 million people with disabilities in the UK by making their optometry practice more accessible.

They have produced a new practical guide to help you make the changes needed. Download at www.seeability.org/accessible-practice.
