CET points deadline 31 December

All GOC registrants who want to remain on our registers next year need to be able to provide evidence of having met the required number of CET points by 31 December.

With just a few weeks until the deadline, we're urging registrants who have not yet met their points target to do so as soon as possible.

New IT system for enhanced CET

From January, GOC registrants will be able to log their CET points and complete their online retention forms in one place.

The MyGOC area of the GOC’s website is expanding so that registrants can do both using one single login.

News in brief

Student roadshows

We have now completed our ‘student roadshow’ season. During September and October we visited first year students at each of the training institutions which teach courses leading to GOC registration.

The roadshows have two purposes. We speak to new students about registration and what it means to be part of a regulated profession, and we also collect their registration forms and fees.

Carrots NightWalk

Congratulations to Team GOC on raising over £1,000 for research into sight-threatening conditions on Fight for Sight’s Carrots Nightwalk. It’s not too late to donate to this great cause, just visit https://www.justgiving.com/Team-GOC.

Samantha Peters said, “It was great to see the sights of London together, and being sent off by Paralympic champion Chris Holmes, who lost his sight at the age of 14, really helped us understand how good a cause we were supporting.”
