GOC set for move to Farringdon

We have announced plans to move to a new, more modern office in the Farringdon area of London later this summer.

We expect to move once the new space has been fitted out. Upon moving, we will surrender our lease on our current premises, a converted house on Harley Street at which we have been based since 1958.

The new building is designed to be more modern and more appropriate for a working environment, allowing staff to work more effectively together and to progress our work in protecting the public. It will also allow for our premises to be more accessible, especially for wheelchair users and people with sight loss.

Additionally, the extra space will mean that we can now conduct more of our activities in-house, such as Council meetings, meetings with stakeholders, training, public events and fitness to practice hearings. Currently, a lot of these meetings take place externally and by being able to move these in-house, we will be able to operate more efficiently.

Josie Lloyd, Director of Resources, said: “We’re looking forward to the move, which will really help our staff to work in a collaborative way in line with our organisational values. The deal will also provide good value for registrants and we will invest the proceeds from Harley Street carefully to ensure our long-term financial stability.”

We have appointed Brewin Dolphin as investment advisers to ensure we make best use of the proceeds for future financial stability.
