Apply to become a CET provider

Please visit MyCET to access and complete an online application form to apply to become a CET provider

The provider registration fee of £45 needs to be paid before an application can be processed by either bank transfer (details on the form) or by cheque payable to the General Optical Council. Please note that cheques take significantly longer to process and must have the provider details sent to the Education Department at the GOC. There may be a bank charge on top of our application fee for applicants outside the UK.

It must be made clear that payment made is in the provider account name otherwise can cause delays if not clear.

Once an application has been accepted, providers will be issued with login details to the CET IT system which will allow you to apply for approval for CET events.

It may take a minimum of ten working days to process the completed application and to approve CET events that have been submitted.

Please refer to our guidance for providers and our principles and requirements which we expect all providers to agree and sign up to.

Renewing your registration

You must renew your CET provider registration each year to continue to provide CET. The GOC will issue an invoice for £45 which can be paid by either bank transfer (details on the application form in MyCET) or by cheque. Please note that cheques take significantly longer to process and must have the provider details sent to the Education Department at the GOC.

Only once the payment has been processed and accepted can providers begin to apply to provide CET.
